The fact that this is a thriller first and alternative history second makes it all the more chilling, By making the setting seem almost incidental, Harris's portrayal of this dystopia is all the more powerful.

Female characters don't come across brilliantly though. Jayston's voice is just too deep.

THE BLURB

Fatherland is set in an alternative world where Hitler has won the Second World War. It is April 1964 and one week before Hitler's 75th birthday.
