STAR RATINGS GUIDE

Beautiful.

THE BIRDICT

There's nothing I can say about this book that probably hasn't been said a million times over. It is a beautiful, beautifully written story with characters I loved and hated and missed when I finished reading.

The struggles of the civil rights movement are brought to life in such a way that they stay with you. It is and I'm sure will remain one of my favourite books.

SQUAWKING THE TALK

Oh but I love Southern accents! Every voice in this production is buttery smooth, every word imbued with meaning. One of the best productions I've listened to.

THE BLURB

Jackson, Mississippi, 1962. Aibileen is a black maid raising her 17th white child.

Minny, Aibileen's best friend, is the sassiest woman in Mississippi: a wonderful cook with a gossip's tongue.

Graduate Skeeter returns from college with ambitions, but her mother will not be happy until she's married.

Although world's apart, Skeeter, Aibileen, and Minny's lives converge over a clandestine project that will change the town of Jackson forever.
