💜 I'm conflicted about this one. It's clever, well woven and funny at times, but I disliked every single character. I also found the overall message hard to swallow; the idea that even if terrible stuff that has happened to you has ruined a massive portion of your life that's okay and you should make the most of the rest of it. What about all the wasted time? What about the unforgivable things they've done? These characters had inflated petty things into pivotal events or stuck their heads in the ground to ignore terrible injustices.

💛 It feels as though the book was halfway between a dark comedy and a fable and didn't quite satisfy either genre. It reminded me of Vernon God Little.
