STAR RATINGS GUIDE

Futility Has Never Been Funnier

THE BIRDICT

Obviously this is a classic and for good reason. Not only is it incredibly witty and erudite, but the humour only highlights the poignancy of its message on the futility of war.

Major Major Major Major is genius genius genius genius.

This book is looong and repetitive at times. When I first read it, I didn't finish. It's still worth 4 stars because it is just so clever and funny.

SQUAWKING THE TALK

🎧 Narrator Trevor White delivers a clean, All-American performance (he is in fact British/Canadian) that's just right.

Catch-22

THE BLURB

This is the tale of the dangerously sane Captain Yossarian, who spends his time in Italy plotting to survive. Yossarian is a bombardier in the 256th Squadron of the US Army Air Forces during World War II, stationed on Pianosa, a fictionalised island in the Mediterranean between mainland Italy and Corsica. The squadron's assignment is to bomb enemy positions in Italy and eastern France. Yossarian's mission is simply to stay alive.
